Will of Jane DELARGY (McGarel) of Magheragoragh, Glenarm, Co Antrim. Farmer.
Made, 5 June 1890. Probate granted, 14 November 1890.
This is the last will and testament of me Jane DELARGY of
Magheragoragh, Co Antrim. I leave devise and bequeath all my farm of land,
tenement and premises with is appurtenances as now in my own occupation, to
Jane McGAREL and Samuel McGAREL, daughter and son of my deceased brother James
McGAREL, to be divided equally between them, share and share alike, the same
to be however subject to and chargeable with a legacy or sum of two hundred
pounds sterling which I herby leave evise and bequeath to my said deceased
brother's daughter Ellen McGAREL to be given to her when she comes of age, and
I also allow that the said two hundred pounds sterling are not to be paid by
the said Jane McGAREL and Samuel McGAREL until the said Ellen McGAREL comes of
age but I allow that they are to pay equally between them to my Executors
herinafter named, legal interest for the use of the two hundred pounds from
the time of my death until the said Ellen comes of age, and when the said
Ellen comes of age they are to pay equally between them the two hundred
pounds. And I allow my Executors to do with the interest they may receive
whatever they may consider best for the benefit of Ellen. And it is my wish
that Jane and Samuel shall permit my brother Arthur McGAREL who is at present
residing with me to remain on my farm of land and that they shall supply him
with food and lodging thereon while he does fair and reasonable work on said
farm of land for the benefit of Jane and Samuel. To Jane and Samuel all stock,
crop, farming implements and household furniture to be divided equally
between them. I leave my brother Owen McGAREL, 30 pounds. I leave my brother
Arthur McGAREL, 30 pounds. I leave my sister Ellen McGAREL, 30 pounds. I
leave my deceased brother's daughter Agnes McGAREL, 50 pounds. I leave my
deceased brother's son David McGAREL 30 pounds when he comes of age. I leave
my cousin John McGAREL of Ballyrickard-beg, 30 pounds. To my cousin Ann
McGAREL of Ballyrickard-beg, 20 pounds. To Philip O'NEILL of Larne, who is
the son of my deceased sister Sarah, 20 pounds. To James O'NEILL in
Australia, 20 pounds. O'NEILL of Headwood, 10 pounds. James McCART of
Cushendall, 20 pounds. To Hugh McCART, 10 pounds. To Samuel STUART of
Ballyrickard-more, 10 pounds. To Sarah STUART of Ballyrickard-more, 10
pounds. To Arthur McGAREL of Glenarm, who is the son of my said brother
Arthur McGAREL, 10 pounds. To Jane McGAREL, daughter of Arthur McGAREL of
Glenarm, 10 pounds to be given to her when she comes of age. To David WHITE
of Ballygowan, 10 pounds. I nominate and appoint my cousin John McGAREL of
Ballyrickard-beg, farmer, and James McWILLIAM of Pound Street, Larne,
Merchant, Executors of this my last will and testament.
