[Letter possibly to Aunt Mary GIBSON, Ballymena, dated 7 April 1913, Stones
Corner, Logan Road
this date must have been a mistake since Patrick MULVENNA died 30 Mar 1914]
Dear Auntie, It is with heart felt sorrow I
write you these few lines to let you know of our dear father's death.
He had a very short illness. No doubt we miss him very much. We have
no father nor dear mother. The world is no good without them. We all
hope and pray to God he will be happy in the next world. We held mass in
St Stephen's Church on Sunday. Father BURNS read the mass. Well
Dear Auntie, Father will never have his trip home now. He will
never see you on this earth. We must all pray to God that we
shall meet him in the next world. Father ENWRIGHT read the burial
service over our dear Father. Forget him we never will. It came
as a shock to all who knew him dear Auntie. He was a good father
to us all and I must say with regret I miss him. I often cry to
myself. Well Dear Auntie I will draw to a close as I am too upset
to say any more, hoping to hear from you soon, I remain your loving
neice Ellen [lots of kisses] for all from all here. Address: Miss EJ
MULVENNA, Stones Corner, Logan Road, Queensland, Australia.
