[Letter to his uncle Willie, dated 8 July 1914, 58 Amiens St, Dublin]
Dear Uncle Willy, I hope you got my last letter alright. I am going to
Belfast on Saturday by the 9am train leaving here and will arrive in Belfast
about 12 noon. I am bringing the cork drawer with me
so if you meet me at the GNRly I will be able to give it to you. The train
arrives at the GNRly Station, Belfast shortly before or after twelve but if
you ask any porter at the station they will tell you the correct time the
train arrives in Belfast. If you are unable to meet me in Belfast on Saturday
I will send the cork drawer by Parcels post from Belfast. My mother will not
be able to come with me to the north as she is very busy looking for a house
at present. I go for a swim every day now. I supoose you have finished work
at Wellington Youngs by now. How are Mrs MULVENNA, Willy and Pat? I hope
they are quite well. The weather here has been rotten for the last couple of
days. Now I must wind up hoping to see you soon. From Tom. PS I hope your
knee is quite better by now also Mrs MULVENNA's sore hand. Tom McCARTNEY.
