On James Mullan's death certificate, the cause of death is given as:
myocarditis; senile decay; certified.
He was baptised by Fr Joseph Doherty and his sponsors were Michael Begley
and Catherine Connor. According to Edmund Mullan, James came over to America
on several occasions to work as a "bird of passage" labourer. Circa 1913 he
is said to have worked on building the New York subway.
