[Letter to her brother Willie, dated 19 May 1914, Church St, Ballymena]
Dear Willie, you will be sorry to hear of our dear brother Pat's death in
Australia. May the Lord have mercy on his soul. I got the letter yesterday
from one of the little girls. Indeed I am extremely sorry about him as he
always wrote to me and sent newspapers and cards at Christmas. Hoping you
are all quite well. You never think of coming to see us. I enclose you the
letter I got you can return it, with kind regards and best wishes to all,
your affectionate sister, Mary. PS I saw Mrs STARKEY's funeral in Saturday's
Irish News. [Another letter to her brother Willie, dated 23 Dec 1915]
Church St, Ballymena
Dear Willie, just a line to wish you, Mrs and family a very happy Christmas
and bright and prosperous New Year with many happy returns. I suppose you
saw in the paper where Jack got first place in Whitehaven Post office. He
takes up duties on the 3 Jan 1916. You might take a run down to see us.
Hoping you are all quite well, your affectionate sister, Mary.

Honeymooned in Lough Derg. Minnie Perry was a devout convert to Catholicism.
Rosemary O'Connor remembers how she would recite her prayers out loud in a
very scary voice. Drumsurn National School shows that Mary Elizabeth started
school aged 12 on 11 Feb 1878.
