It is likely that Elizabeth moved from Deerpark to Ballymena around 1888 as a
notice appears in the Larne Weekly Reporter on 17 Dec 1887 announcing an
auction of farm of land lately occupied by Patrick MULVENNA to take place on
Friday 3 January 1888. According to Felix McKILLOP who spotted this notice
there was no follow up story to say who had bought or bid for the land.
[Letter to her son Willie dated 27 Jan 1897, Church St, Ballymena]
Dear Willie, just a few lines to let you know that I am keeping wonderful
well and that I got the bottle of essence of linseed allright. I think it
will help my cough. I hope dear Willie yourself and the Mrs and baby is
keeping well. Your brother Charlie wants you to write to him. I send you
his address. You might please write to him. I must say goodbye with kind
regards and best wishes from your affectionate mother, E MULVENNA. Charles'
address is: Mr Charles MULVENNA, No 4 Bowen Street, off Ann Street, Brisbane,
Queensland, Australia. Dear Willie you might please write as soon as you can
to Charlie and give him all the news and write soon to me again.[end of
letter]
A letter from James MULVENNA, dated 15 Jan 1900, to his brother William
mentions their mother's death.
Her death notice appears in the Irish News, 20 April 1899: "MULVENNA April 19,
at the residence of her son-in-law (Mr William GIBSON, Chruch Street,
Ballymena) Elizabeth, relict of the late Patrick MULVENNA. [Her remains will
be removed from the above address for interment in the family burying ground,
Feystown, Glenarm, on tomorrow (Friday), the 21st inst, at ten o'clock.]"
